DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established
in 2023, the department of Political Science is one of the leading departments
of PDUAM, Amjonga. The department has started with three faculty members. It
offers Four Year under Graduate Programme
(FYUGP) under NEP and Higher Secondary course (AHSEC) to the students. The
intake capacity for FYUGP in our college has been finalised by Gauhati
University to be 50 for MAJOR in
Political Science and 150 for MINOR
in Political Science. The department aims to build a community of students with
excellent academic records as well as socially responsible citizens. Focussing
on interdisciplinary approach, the department aims to develop critical and
analytical thinking among the students.
VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT
The
vision of the department is to create a community of students who are not only
well versed in the discipline of Political Science theoretically but also
actively engaged in addressing political and societal challenges. The
department want to produce graduates who are equipped with knowledge, skill and
values necessary to participate in and shape the political discourse.
MISSION OF THE
DEPARTMENT
The
mission of the department is to promote critical thinking and facilitate
discussion on various aspects of Political system, governance and policies. Apart
from focussing on academic excellence, the department aims to make students
aware of the political behaviour, analyse power dynamics and evaluate the
impact of the policies.
