5. Teaching-learning
method used by the Department
ü Department
of Botany, PDUAM, Amjonga, adopts student centric teaching-learning method.
ü Along
with the class room teaching, the department organizes various learning
activities like seminar, group discussion that includes overall students’
participation.
ü The
department arranges field studies and excursions which enhances the
experiential learning of the students.
ü Peer
teaching is another example of learner centric method of teaching adopted by
the department.

analysis of the Department:
Strength: The strength of the department of Botany are the high
qualified faculty members and the students itself. The other strengths are the
facilities that are present in the department of Botany as instruments and
necessary equipments to perform both theory and practical classes.
Weakness: Department is lacking advanced instruments to perform
quality research of recent time.
Oppurtunity: The opportunity that the
department gets to provide the best knowledge and quality education in the
subject botany to the students and also to make the students enable to pursue
higher study and engage them to become self- sufficient in their lives.
Challenge: The challenge of the
department is to uplift the students from background community of this locality
of Amjonga and its nearby places and also economically poor students to make
them employed and skillfull.
14. Future Plan of the Department
v Upgradation of the course from Graduation to Post-graduation
v Development of a Research Hub in the Department.
v Development of a reputed physical as well as digitalized Herbarium.
v Documentation and database preparation of Flora of Goalpara district.
v Conservation of Germplasm of RET,
endemic as well as medicinally important plants.
v Collaboration with institutions of repute and excellence in the field of
plant and allied sciences.
